ADDRESS 2121 E 7th Pl, Los Angeles, CA 90021
Finally, the long awaited ... Bestia! There are more than 2,000 reviews and more than 5,000 photos on Yelp* for this restaurant in Downtown LA, it's hard to not want to follow the crowd on this one - especially since everyone that I spoke to about Bestia raved of the service and the food. Usually not a fan of hipster/new American cuisine but I thought my experience here was satisfying enough to allow room for exceptions.
Location - Very random in the back alleyway in the warehouse district of Downtown Los Angeles. Valet is also an unreasonable 7 dollars.
Ambiance - Loud enough to be considered casual, yet the lighting was dim enough to be considered a bit romantic and the formal enough to sport a blazer. They even have patio seating with heated lamps for those who are interested in enjoying a more intimate setting.
Bar - Full selection. You can also avoid the wait by enjoying your meal at the bar.
Wait - MAKE RESERVATIONS. We were seated within 5 minutes of arrival because we made reservations. However, the low score is also due to the 2 month reservation wait.
My experience here was very satisfying. I will definitely be back on another occasion. Price wise - very reasonable - especially for New American.
