🏠 | Seared Ahi Tuna

As you can see, I am totally in LOVE with sashimi tuna (not so much for canned tuna…). Anywhoo, I decided to whip up some a simple yet delicious seared ahi tuna salad. It’s so easy, anyone can pick it up quickly :)

  • 2 (6-8 oz) sashimi tuna (they should be about 3/4 in thick)
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic, minced
  • juice of half a lime

  1. Mix the marinade together (sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, lime juice)
  2. Coat the tuna slices with the marinade in a ziploc bag. Make sure to cover it tightly and refrigerate it for at least an hour
  3. Turn the frying pan to medium high – high heat
  4. When the pan is hot, remove the tuna slices from the marinade and sear them for about 45 seconds on each side (you can sear longer if you want the tuna less rare than the pictures below)
  5. Remove from pan and slice them into 1/4 in thick slices

You can serve this with salad or rice. I decided to eat it with salad and a little bit of miso salad dressing, and it was bomb dot com
